Burst into Summer: It’s Kids Party Time

Those children blessed with late spring and summer birthdays are getting excited as the sun comes out and they begin to dream about their special day.

There’s nothing more lovely of course than a children’s party in the sun! Whether you go for a girlie glitter ball, a strawberries and cream traditional treat or a vibrant exotic carnival; for the boys superhero devilry, pirates or ninjas. It’s all about doing what it takes to make an unforgettable party for your child.

Party planning for summer parties (in between crossing your fingers for the sun to come out) begins in earnest now. The all important theme, entertainment (bouncy castle or entertainer? Pass the parcel and face painting?), food and of course the decorations!

Stylish French party brand, My Little Day, has been developing an amazing range of party products to help you create super-good looking themes that avoid commercial overload. For decorations, go for the tassle garlands, or beautiful flower garlands. Tableware comes in modern geometrics, florals or plates and cups kids can colour in themselves! Mask and hats, straws and confetti, and even invitations, you can create your whole look in one place and it won’t look like every other party on the block.

There are some great new theme ideas for 2015 too. Our favourites for summer are the American Indian theme (complete with teepee treat boxes, snack canoes and paper head-dresses) or go tropical with tableware covered in exotic birds, bright paper lanterns  and cocktail umbrellas.

And of course, no children’s party is complete with balloons. As many as possible – or as many as you can blow up! From  balloons that say ‘Yay!’ and ‘Pow!’ to colour-in your own to spots and stripes to match your tableware it’s popping good fun!

Our recommends for summer parties that work for any theme!

– Inflatable toys scattered around the garden double as take home gifts
– Pinatas filled with goodies or garden treasure hunts – let kids fill their own party bags with the spoils
