Hong Kong born designer, Tze Ching, has created a wonderful range of kids designer fashion inspired by her own twins, Jake and Maya.
Children’s fashion has never been stronger, with the emergence of some exceptional British brands giving us a variety of really high quality, classic and contemporary childrenswear.
Amongst them is the exclusive Jakeandmaya whose ranges for girls and boys celebrate the innocence of children with its vintage inspired cuts and fabrics all created by Tze Ching Yeung.
Jakeandmaya work with local artisans and craftsmen, using remnant and vintage materials, hand-stitching, knitting and hand printing. The final result is an exciting combination of vintage contemporary that has been really popular with retailers including Harvey Nichols and the online AlexandAlexa.
Tze tells us, “Quality and sustainability are part of the bedrock at Jakeandmaya and we are extremely proud to be a British company producing clothes made in Britain, using highly skilled manufacturers. The level of care and craftsmanship that we put into each and every individual piece of clothing shines through, benefitting retailers and buyers alike.”
The Spring Summer collection is available online now featuring tailored formal tuxedos, jackets and trousers for boys in shades of palest ‘morning blue’ and ‘green grass’. For girls Jakeandmaya is all about the feminine with floaty dresses and tops in cotton with butterfly sleeves and bows including the patterned wildflower which is our favourite. Also lovely and perfect for a more casual formal feel are the Candy jumpsuits in lavendar or coral with vintage trimming and pockets on the outside.
You might also want to check out the newly introduced handmade leather Owl backpacks. A lovely item with its contrasting leather and unique removable cotton inner, which would make a long lasting and conversation grabbing gift.
