Sun Gardens Dubrovnik has launched a series of Sports Academies, offering a range of activities to keep the kids entertained this summer. With the help of dedicated instructors, children between 7 to 15 years are invited to take up a new sport or learn how to perfect their technique. For kids who love the idea of football activity holidays, or even basketball, tennis or water polo, the resort offers the perfect mix for families.

Here’s a rundown of their new sports academies and what they doing in Dubrovnik for families.
Offering an exciting alternative to lazing by the pool, the if you are looking for family holidays with soccer schools, the Sun Gardens Dubrovnik Football Academy invites children to learn and play with experienced players and coaches from around the world. Put through their paces in both training sessions, football matches and tournaments, all junior footballers graduate from the Academy with a fully equipped sports bag as well as a certificate and medal.
From 18 June to 15 July participants will have an opportunity to learn from Ognjen Vukojević, a former member of the Croatian National Football team who has played in the champion’s league.
The Football Academy with Ognjen Vukojević costs 400€ per child per week from 18 June – 15 July 2017. From 22 May – 17 June / 16 July – 30 September 2017 the Football Academy costs 350€ per child per week.
Swimming and Water Polo Academy
Where better to learn Water Polo than in Dubrovnik, where the sport is played from an early age and is more of a way of life than just a leisure activity. The Water Polo Academy welcomes children of all swimming ability, from beginners to advanced, to master technique in tailored lessons before putting the new skill into practice in a host of mini-tournaments. Every graduate from the Academy will receive a fully equipped sports bag as well as a certificate and medal.

The Basketball Academy is a great choice for boys and girls of all skill levels who either want to learn fundamental basketball techniques or work towards the next level. In intimate classes of six, experts in the field will instruct and motivate participants in exciting lessons. Leaving the parents by the pool, junior participants will learn everything from dribbling and shooting to catch and pass drills, all with plenty of time to socialise with their peers. Every graduate from the Academy will leave with a fully equipped sports bag as well as a certificate and medal.

In small classes of 15, the resort’s experienced tennis coaches have created innovative lessons for children of all ability, whether they wish to learn the basics or master difficult technique. Overlooking the Adriatic coastline, lessons will take place on the professional tennis courts at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik and will consist of coordination and speed drill practice, tutorials on forehand and backhand technique as well as service and volley training. Upon graduating from the Tennis Academy, participants will receive a fully equipped sports bag as well as a certificate and medal.

The Sports Camp at Sun Gardens Dubrovnik offers a range of activities and provides an opportunity for children to try a new sport, perfect their technique, meet new friends and have fun all during their summer holiday. Set on the vast state-of-the-art sports facilities and grounds at the resort, the recreational all-sports summer camp welcomes children of all ability to learn basic skills in football, basketball, tennis and water polo.
