Retro trainers are still a fashion statement in the adult market, running high in the style stakes with all the major sports brands offering vintage or originals collections. At Fluxlings we think the old school shoes fit particularly well on little feet.

They remind us of our own school days, a bit of kerby on the roadside, hula hoops and learning to ride our bikes. And now one of the mainstays of retro sneaker style, the Puma Clyde, that has been re-doing the rounds on the adult scene for a few years, has just been released in some wonderful Spring Summer colours for kids.

The Clyde was originally customised in 1973 for basketball star and definition of street style, Walt Frazier. The shoe became an immediate mainstay on the basketball court, and as part of the uniform for DJs, musicians and graffiti artists. The colours and gold signature were the symbols of credibility.
So what an old-school treat for our kids! Make them the coolest kids on the block with the lace-up low slung Puma chic. The Clyde for kids comes in some sparkling primary bright colours perfect with jeans or shorts, or skirts and leggings. We love the bright red, but then again with love the purple too.
Puma Clyde kids trainers are available from April at www.step2wo.com with stores in Selfridges (£25).
