Blue skies and sun-drenched beaches might seem like a universe away. But just in case anyone out there lucky enough to be heading to any global hot spots to end the winter, we thought we’d lighten the mood and share this stunning new children’s swimwear brand with you.
Beanie and Bear is based in London, and created by Noya Bebawi, graphic designer, children’s illustrator and mother of 2 (“Beanie” and “Bear”). Taking her children’s swimwear catastrophes into her own hands, Noya has created a collection of high quality bikinis and tailored trunks in bold colours and playful prints.
The instantly recognisable pieces are made for a perfect fit, with a focus on quality and durability. The cut channels the 70s, with a touch of eighties neon whilst the range also includes a fabulous selection of jersey dresses, playsuits and unisex T’s, offering a complete beach solution.
Designed to be mixed and matched to deliver endless combinations, the range has bags of character. There’s lots of attention to the small details – from the soft lime lining to the signature gold bolts. As well as looking amazing the high visibility neon means that you’re not going to lose sight of your kids on a busy beach. The UPF50 sun protection in the stretch pieces protects your little ones’ skin while they’re having fun in the sun.
The concept behind Beanie &Bear is anchored in childhood memories of joyful fun in the sun, innocence, dribbly ice-creams, the smell of the ocean and the sand between your toes. We love in particular the thunderbolt and camouflage prints, and the bold neon frills. And the wonderful imagery that transports us away from a wet UK to a bright blue other world!
